This ZWILLING ceramic sharpening steel is used if knife blades lose their sharpness over time. Knives and scissor blades can be sharpened on the rod in no time. The ceramic rod supports gentle sharpening and also protects the blades. The slightly curved black handle holds the sharpening steel securely as you pass the knife blade over it. The widened bolster on the transition to the blade serves as finger protection on the one hand and also ensures optimal balance. There is a hole at the end of the handle for hanging. A ceramic sharpening steel is a combination of grinding stone and sharpening steel: It only removes a small amount of material from the knife blades and straightens the burr a little at the same time. This knife sharpener is thus also suitable for sensitive knife edges.
